Long-term storage of harvested goods at the right temperature. Fewer losses, more food where it's grown.
An insulated, solar-powered cooling hall that runs entirely off-grid. Built to combat post-harvest loss, reduce carbon footprint, and protect the work farmers already did.
The Much Cooler is a long-term storage solution designed for hot, dusty, off-grid sites. It pairs proven cold-chain engineering with our Ohms Box battery storage so the hall stays at temperature 24/7 — even when the sun isn't.
Quick to install. Durable. Customised for local crops and climates. From 300 tons up to 5,000+ tons of capacity, depending on what you store and where you store it.
Long-term storage of harvested goods at the right temperature. Fewer losses, more food where it's grown.
Stored correctly, food stays nutritious and safe. Quality at sale matches quality at harvest.
Sell year-round instead of dumping at harvest peak. Stabilises income for farmers and prices for consumers.
Our first Much Cooler is going in at Podor, Senegal — a milestone for solar-powered cold storage in the region. Designed to run entirely on solar, even at 45 °C ambient, and to keep tonnes of harvest from spoiling at peak season.
We're documenting the install end to end — site preparation, panel and structure raising, commissioning — so future deployments can reference what worked.
Much Cooler operates entirely on solar power, eliminating the need for diesel. Storage capacity is flexible, ranging from 300 to over 5,000 tons, and can be scaled to meet demand.
The fast read — crop loss problem, solar cooling solution, and typical capacity ranges.
Capacity tiers (300–5,000+ tons), temperature range, dimensions, and solar+battery sizing.
Deeper context: post-harvest losses, deployment patterns, and the Podor reference site.
Tell us the crop, the volume, and the climate. We come back with a sized cooling hall and an indicative cost — usually within a working day.
